William Asa Hutchinson III, son of Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R), was arrested early Sunday morning in Fayetteville for DWI, careless driving and refusal to submit to a sobriety test, according to KATV Channel 7 News in Little Rock, a content partner with Talk Business & Politics.

Hutchinson III, 40, was arrested by the Arkansas State Police on Interstate 49 and the Fulbright Expressway. He was released from the Washington County Jail on $935, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Gov. Hutchinson was asked about his son during a press availability Monday in Jonesboro. Hutchinson said that while he loved his son, his son must face any issue head on including legal issues.

Hutchinson III is a 1997 graduate of the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2000 from the University of Arkansas School of Law. He was admitted to the Arkansas bar in 2001, and the Missouri bar in 2007.

Prior to his father’s election as governor, the two represented former Northwest Arkansas developer Brandon Barber during his federal sentencing.  Barber in July 2013 admitted guilt in various schemes to prop up his Northwest Arkansas real estate and development company between 2005 and 2009.
