Sales for Tara Limbird’s real estate team have grown an average of 52 percent each year since 2011, and last year’s sales reached $100 million. Her team now includes five brokers, eight full-time agents, seven support team members and one property manager for a division she recently launched, Metro Property Management.

Limbird is a dynamo: direct but fair, and a big thinker. She sees real estate as the vehicle driving her bigger passion — entrepreneurship. Her sense of satisfaction comes from knowing her clients are well-served, providing more jobs for the community and watching her agents become successful. Limbird has successfully incorporated guaranteed-sell programs and celebrity endorsements into her business plan.

This River Valley native had parents who taught the value of hard work. “If I made a 99 on a test, my mom was asking, ‘What did you miss?’” she said. “In my DNA is instilled: constant and never-ending improvement.”

Limbird started working in a restaurant at age 15 and moved into management by age 18. She earned a business degree from Arkansas State University and worked for seven years in mortgage and financing. She was happy, but restless, until she found real estate and hit her stride in what she was born to do.

The Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce named her company the 2015 Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year. Limbird is active in the Benton County CEO Forum and is a graduate of Leadership Benton County. She said a core value of her company is abundance. “You have to give to get,” she said.

Limbird’s team has raised almost $15,000 for community charities, and proceeds from each closing go to the company’s Compassion Campaign, which meets urgent and random community needs.
