The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) is now accepting applications for the 2016 Leadership Batesville program. The deadline to apply is Jan. 31, 2016.

Leadership Batesville is designed to identify, educate and prepare potential leaders for leadership roles in our community. The program consists of 10 education sessions that are held in various locations throughout Independence County. Sessions include an orientation, an overnight kick-off retreat, a state government session in Little Rock, volunteer opportunities, and numerous educational sessions that focus on business etiquette, state and local government, economic development, county industry, quality of life, healthcare, education, non-profits, and board of directors training. Participants who complete the Leadership Batesville program will be honored at the BACC’s 2017 Annual Awards.

BACC President/CEO Crystal Johnson said the program offers future leaders many opportunities.

“Leadership Batesville prepares our community’s future leaders, many who have already taken on leadership roles to some degree, by better acquainting them with aspects of our community. For our community to be strong, our leaders must have a strong knowledge of the community that they serve, and that knowledge begins with Leadership Batesville.”

Any employee of a Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce member may apply. The official Leadership Batesville application must be used. An anonymous committee will select 15 individuals to participate. The applicant must not be a candidate for public office at the time of application.

Interested parties should contact Danell Hetrick, BACC director of grant writing & communications, at [email protected] or (870) 793-2378.
