Gov. Hutchinson makes appointments to three university boards

Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) on Wednesday (Dec. 23) made appointments to the board of trustees at Arkansas State University, Arkansas Tech University and the University of Central Arkansas.

Bunny Adcock of Conway was appointed to the board of the University of Central Arkansas. His term begins Jan. 15, 2016 and expires Jan. 14, 2023.

Adcock is the vice chairman of the Board at Centennial Bank. His previously worked for UCA as vice president of finance and head golf coach. Adcock has also served as a member of the UCA Foundation Board of Directors, International Programs Advisory Committee, Responsible UCA Committee, Cost Containment Committee and the Dean’s Advisory Committee to the School of Business.

Stacy Crawford of Jonesboro was appointed to the board of Arkansas State University. Her term begins Jan. 15, 2016 and expires Jan. 14, 2021.

Crawford is a social worker at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, and earned a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is an alumna of Arkansas State University, where she served as a senator in the Student Government Association and as vice-president of Membership Education for Alpha Omicron Pi. She is married to U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Jonesboro.

Tom Kennedy of Little Rock was appointed to the board of Arkansas Tech University. His term begins Jan. 15, 2016 and expires Jan. 14, 2021.

Kennedy is the vice president of public affairs at Entergy Arkansas, and is an alumnus of Arkansas Tech University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law.

Kennedy served two terms as Prosecuting Attorney for the Fifth Judicial District and was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas. He previously served as a State Senator. Kennedy is on the board of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas.

“These three individuals that I’ve appointed are valued members of their communities with sound backgrounds in both education and government,” Hutchinson said in a statement. “They are well respected among the members of their particular board, and I have no doubt they will serve their respective institutions well.”
