Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, the area’s largest country club, has made a change at the top.

Longtime general manager Pat Hennessy is out, and Tim Johnson, previously the general manager at The Territory Golf & Country Club in Duncan, Oklahoma, is in.

The upscale club announced Johnson’s hiring Oct. 15 with a news release, but there was no mention of what happened to Hennessy, who had been an employee of the club almost from the day it opened in 1990. Hennessy was hired as the director of tennis in 1991, and was promoted to general manager of the club in May 2005.

What we eventually found out was that Hennessy left Pinnacle in late July, although the reasons remain unclear. Mike Hudson, the owner of the club, didn’t say much, other than Hennessy resigned for a change of pace.

“He did a good job, but it can be challenging and can wear on you after a while,” he said.

We can understand that. The people-pleasing must be incredibly demanding at a club like Pinnacle, where the high-powered are plentiful, and the membership is up to nearly 1,000 active families.
