40/29 News Director Leaving For Sister Station in New Mexico

Greg Shepperd is leaving his post as news director for KHBS/KHOG-TV’s 40/29 News.

Shepperd has accepted a news director job at another ABC affiliate owned by New York City-based Hearst Television, KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to a press release.

“In his three years at 40/29, Greg has distinguished himself with a unique blend of exceptional team leadership skills, and an eye for what it takes to deliver great local television news,” KHBS/KHOG-TV president and general manager Shawn Oswald said in the press release, “Greg’s leadership has set us up for success in the short- as well as the long-term.” 

Shepperd started at 40/29 in 2012. Prior to that, he was honored for his contributions at Hearst’s New Orleans station, WDSU-TV, through the Edward R. Murrow awards and regional Emmy Awards, according to the press release.

Shepperd’s last day at 40/29 is Oct. 16. There was no word of a replacement at the time of publication.
