Chris Mathews Re-elected Chairman for Little Rock Port Authority Board
The Little Rock Port Authority board of directors elected Chris Mathews as chairman for a second consecutive year.
Mathews was first appointed to the Little Rock Port Authority in the summer of 2006 and assumed the role of chairman in 2014. During his time on the Little Rock Port Authority board, Mathews has served as treasurer and vice chairman.
He currently owns and operates two local businesses in the port: National Custom Hollow Metal Doors and Frames (Formerly Bush Caldwell) and Maple Leaf Awning and Canvas.
According to media release from the Port Authority, Mathews has helped guide the Little Rock Port Authority in adopting resolutions supporting sustainable efforts, promoting the use of minority, women and veteran owned businesses, and supporting appropriate land use in and adjacent to the industrial park.
“This past year has been one of positive growth and new directions” said Mathews. “As we finish the development of our strategic plan, and begin implementing the identified objectives, I believe this Port will become even more important and critical to central Arkansas’s economic vitality and ability to compete on the global stage” said Mathews.
The Little Rock Port Authority Board of Directors elected Dexter Doyne as vice-chairman and Melissa Hendricks as Treasurer.
