A nationally known Tex-Mex restaurant chain will be building its newest restaurant in Jonesboro.

Haag Brown Commercial said On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina has been added to the Red Wolf Boulevard Corner Development at the corner of Red Wolf and Fairview, across from Panera Bread.

Haag Brown Development worked with Devin Keil of On the Border’s Real Estate team and Kyle Anz of HGA Holdings, LLC in the sale of the 1.14-acre tract at the busy corner, which has exposure to over 35,000 cars per day.

There is one more space for lease available within the development, officials said.

“We have completed eight projects on this block of Red Wolf Boulevard over the course of the last 36 months and this was the most challenging,” Haag Brown Commercial Co-Owner and Principal Joshua Brown said. “Assembling ten different properties proved to be tough and required more time than any project of this size than we have seen. But, I think the fruits will be worth it. The visual impact on Red Wolf will be significant as these are gonna be some cool, modern-looking buildings.”

Haag Brown Commercial Co-Owner and Principal Greg Haag noted that he is excited about the economic impact this transaction is going to have on the city.

“We are replacing 10 rent houses with four businesses that will employ over 100 people and generate several million dollars in annual sales tax revenue which equals a boost in income for Jonesboro,” Haag said.

The opening of the Jonesboro restaurant will be the fifth On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina location in Arkansas with stores already located in Texarkana, Hot Springs, Little Rock and Sherwood.

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is a Tex-Mex casual dining restaurant that originated in Dallas, Texas and now has 170 locations in seven countries.
