The Friends of Hobbs Speaker Series continues at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday May 17, when Dr. Al Einert, professor emeritus of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas, will lead a tree identification tour at Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area.  The tour will originate at the park’s visitor center located on Highway 12 just east of the Highway 12/War Eagle Road intersection.

According to park interpreter Steve Chyrchel, “Our focus at Hobbs is education.  Many of our programs are designed for and presented to elementary school children.  We have however, received specific requests for adult programming.  Dr. Einert’s tree identification program is designed for high school age and older.  Participants will learn how to use a tree identification guide that includes the common trees found in the Eastern and Central United States.  If you have ever wondered what type of trees you have seen while hiking or camping in the area, this program will be very interesting and helpful.”

The event is free to the public. For more information call: 479-789-5000
