Real Agent Guard Mobile App Offers Personal Security
The day after police announced finding the body of central Arkansas Realtor Beverly Carter last fall, former police officer Tim Brasuell and Justyn Hornor, former sergeant in the U.S. Army National Guard, began work on a mobile security app for real estate agents, adapted from a program they created to help cleaning companies monitor staff members’ work times through GPS data and timer-based check-ins.
The two officially founded Rogers-based Real Agent Guard LLC in November, just a few weeks after Carter vanished while showing a house to a prospective buyer. Her body was later found in a shallow grave about 25 miles north of Little Rock.
In addition to the mobile app, which is the core of the security system, Real Agent Guard offers features that include an online, secure video monitoring service, for when agents host open houses.
Large agencies have the option of purchasing the system for their entire staff.
Real estate agency Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney Faucette of Fayetteville was the first agency to adopt the product, and CEO Pat Harris said, “We are very pleased with it.”
Brasuell estimates the program cost averages about $1.80 per month, per agent.
“We were sold on the price, considering what you get,” Harris said. “The peace of mind that it brings is one of those intangible things, but it is well worth it.”
Brasuell said Real Agent Guard is the most affordable choice on the market. “Our closest competition is at about $19 a month per agent,” he said. “There are a lot of companies that are trying to gouge agencies just for security. We want to put an end to that.”
