Fayetteville’s two stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurants combined to take in $8.66 million in revenue in fiscal year 2014, nearly as much as the next three restaurants combined.

The data comes from records supplied by the Fayetteville Advertising & Promotions Commission, which collects a 1 percent tax on prepared foods and non-alcoholic beverages.

The Chick-fil-A in the Northwest Village Shopping Center near the Northwest Arkansas Mall totaled $4.63 million in sales from Dec. 1, 2013, through Nov. 30, 2014. That total reflects an increase of 8.69 percent from the previous fiscal year.

The Chick-fil-A location at the corner of Razorback Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard — across the street from the University of Arkansas — ranked No. 2 in FY2014 revenue with $4.03 million. That total reflects an increase of 9.51 percent from the previous fiscal year, the biggest increase among the city’s top 10 restaurants.

The next three restaurants on the list compiled by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal — Olive Garden ($3.54 million), Shogun Japanese Steak & Sushi ($3.05 million) and Golden Corral ($3.03 million) — combined for $9.61 million in FY2014 revenue. Shogun was up 7.39 percent in comparison to FY2013 revenue.

McDonald’s on MLK Boulevard was ranked No. 6 on the list with $2.72 million in revenue, followed by Logan’s Roadhouse with $2.51 million.

Red Lobster had a revenue decrease of nearly 12 percent from FY2013, but still ranked tied for No. 8 with $2.47 million.

Castfish Hole ($2.47 million) and McDonald’s ($2.32 million), both on Wedington Drive, round out the top 10.

Chartwells Dining, the UA cafeteria, totaled $5.47 million in revenue, but was intentionally excluded from the top 10 list.

Also excluded were Penguin Ed’s Barbeque ($3.22 million) and Rick’s Bakery ($2.35 million). Penguin Ed’s combines revenues from its three locations. Rick’s Bakery is primarily a bakery and not a restaurant.

Fayetteville’s top 10 restaurants combined to produce $30.77 million in revenue in FY2013, up 1.62 percent from the previous year.
