BlueInGreen Hires New President To Lead Continued Expansion
Fayetteville-based water technology firm BlueInGreen LLC announced Feb. 17 the hiring of John M. Kucharik as the company’s new president.
Kucharik brings a wealth of experience within the water industry, and a diverse background as a leader of both publicly and privately held companies.
BlueInGreen, founded in 2004 by University of Arkansas professors Scott Osborn and Marty Matlock, develops products to improve and maintain water quality for industrial, municipal and ecological customers.
Kucharik’s hiring comes after the firm’s best year. It garnered $4.2 million in purchase orders in 2014, which led to a profitable fourth quarter, the company’s first.
Since its first product installation in 2008, the company has expanded its offerings to include four separate products using not only oxygen, but also carbon dioxide and ozone.
Last year alone, BlueInGreen grew its installed base 33 percent — it now has products in eight states — and grew its revenue by more than 200 percent.
“John’s experience in the water and water equipment industry is exceptional and the timing of his arrival is perfect as we leap into growth mode,” said CEO Clete Brewer. “With our backlog of purchase orders and four proven products market-ready, John couldn’t have come at a better time for our organization.”
BlueInGreen is a portfolio company of VIC Technology Venture Development, a private technology venture development firm based at the Arkansas Research and Technology Park in Fayetteville.
The company recently added HRM Environmental in Texas and Kappe Associates Inc. of Virginia to its network of municipal representatives in the U.S.
