What would most people be surprised to learn about you? “My morning caffeine comes from Mountain Dew, not coffee.”

When is it appropriate to text for business? “I started texting because of work.”

What’s the best mistake you’ve ever made? “In elementary school, I tried to inform my mom about the going rate of pay for good grades. She just looked at me and said, ‘I’m not going to pay you to do your best.’ That still shapes me today.”

Who is your most influential role model? “My wife, as a parent and a professional. She does a lot of volunteer work in our schools. Her talent for teaching, compassion, and drive to impact kids is inspiring.”

What is the best business advice you ever received? “When Bill Pollard led ServiceMaster, he spoke of end goals and means goals. Both are important. Without means goals, the end goals won’t be achieved. Without end goals, the means can be empty.”

What aspects of your work do you most enjoy? “Stories our customers tell us after we’ve done a project and what they’ve accomplished as a result. We call it ‘fuel’ because it really does keep us going.”
