As he assembles his administration, Gov. Asa Hutchinson has named four appointees from Northwest Arkansas to state posts.

Hutchinson, a Republican from Rogers, was sworn into office Jan. 13 at the state capitol in Little Rock. Key issues ahead for Hutchinson are a proposed $100 million tax cut for the middle class, and the fate of the Private Option health insurance program.

Meanwhile, Hutchinson is topping off state agencies with his appointees.

Prior to his oath of office, Hutchinson reappointed former state Rep. Jim von Gremp of Rogers to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees; Neff Basore of Bella Vista to the Arkansas State Police Commission; attorney Leon Jones Jr. of Fayetteville as director of the state Department of Labor; and real estate broker Phil Taldo of Springdale to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

Taldo, in his first statewide appointment, said he’s ready to serve.

“I see my role on the commission as a facilitator of job creation and job retention, and to increase development in Arkansas communities,” he said.
