Cook: Nate Steel And Leslie Rutledge Are A Study In Contrasts

Lost in the midst of Leslie Rutledge’s campaign implosion last week is an important factor that must be noted. Nate Steel, Democratic nominee for Attorney General, is running a smooth race free of distractions.

Last week while Rutledge tried to explain why in 2008 she registered to vote in D.C., but then also requested an Arkansas absentee ballot that same year, Steel touted his endorsement by the National Rifle Association. For an Arkansas Attorney General candidate, the NRA nod of support is a coveted endorsement.

On Monday, while Rutledge had an ethics complaint filed against her for potentially illegally coordinating with third-party groups to create TV ads, Steel released a new positive statewide television ad.

The ad was produced by Sway Communications, the same firm that created Dustin McDaniel’s successful ads back in 2006. You can view Steel’s new ad at the bottom of this post.

Sway Communications did a great job with this spot, Steel looks like a confident leader ready to be Attorney General.

With the election less than a month away, one would rather be in Nate Steel’s shoes than Leslie Rutledge’s.
