Beach Break

The 12-person cast for Golf Channel’s 22nd season of its popular reality competition series “Big Break” was revealed Aug. 26, and it includes Emily Tubert, a three-time All-American at the University of Arkansas.

Tubert, who graduated in May and then turned pro, filmed “Big Break Myrtle Beach” in South Carolina in June and the show will debut on Oct. 7.

The six men and six women must survive a series of skills challenges each week to continue in the competition, with the ultimate prize being the chance to play in a 2015 PGA Tour or LPGA Tour event.

Regardless of how the television show turns out, Tubert’s path to the LPGA Tour is already off to a promising start. She shot a 12-under 276 to win the first leg of the three-stage LPGA Qualifying School.

Tubert will play in the second stage later this month in Florida.
