There’s a new, local business-development event planned this fall, and it will cater to all sorts of entrepreneurs, from those with established companies to those who simply have a viable idea.

Participants will spend three days and three nights (Oct. 9-12) in a secluded lodge, the location of which is yet to be announced, and work one-on-one with experienced entrepreneurs on a custom business-development curriculum.

“It’s not cookie-cutter, and we don’t make any assumptions about participants,” said David Baker, co-founder.

For those just starting out, the retreat can provide a one-stop shop for some basics, like information on taxes, gaining LLC status, and help determining whether the business idea is feasible right now, Baker said.

More established companies might use the retreat to focus on one aspect of the company they want to improve.

“There’s sort of this myth of a lone-wolf entrepreneur who is just killing it on their own,” Baker added. “It usually takes a group. You don’t have to go at it alone.”

Mentors who have signed on so far include Baker, who is also senior product owner at RevUnit LLC; Launch Retreat co-founder James Eldridge, CEO at WearLit LLC; Michael Paladino, co-founder and chief technology officer at RevUnit; Joe Saumweber, co-founder and CEO at RevUnit; Joe Payne, co-founder and chief creative officer at Moxy Ox LLC and co-founder at Creatives United; Stephanie McCratic, CEO and owner at Acorn Influence; Frank Niles, co-founder and managing partner at Scholar Executive Group; Jeff Amerine, director of technology ventures at the University of Arkansas; Brett Amerine, director of operations at Startup Junkie Consulting LLC; Bryce Crawford, attorney at The Williams Law Group PLC; and Jayshica Amargos, chief operating officer at Grandslam Performance Associates LLC.

Afterward, Baker and Eldridge will work to keep the mentor-mentee connections alive and the momentum going. More information about the event can be found at www.launchretreat.com.
