Ozark Folkways Celebrates Heritage Day
Saturday May 10th from 10-4 p.m. -Ozark Folkways will celebrate our 21st Annual Heritage Day. “Heritage Day is our annual celebration of local culture; past, present and if we teach our children well, future.” Says Rebecca Buchanan, Director of Ozark Folkways.“
We will have demonstrations of spinning, rughooking, basket-making, quilting, an amazing silent auction, and of course, excellent food! This year we will offer Beans and ham (also a vegan variety,) sizzling skillet cornbread, homemade cobbler, tea, lemonade, and water.
Heritage Day is free and open to the public!
Ozark Folkways is a 501-C-3 organization dedicated to preserving Ozark native arts and music of the Ozarks. Ozark Folkways not only operates a gallery featuring local artists, we host a variety of classes for children and adults ranging from stone masonry and basket weaving to a fiddle camp and children’s art camp.
