Carrie McKnight, vice president of public relations for Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods’ Northwest Arkansas office, said Wednesday she is leaving the company to head up the global communications team for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s Information Systems Division (ISD).

McKnight has worked at the Springdale office of Little Rock-based CJRW since May 2012.

She will begin her new job with Walmart on June 2.

“I am very excited to be returning to Walmart at such a dynamic and thrilling time in their history,” McKnight said. “Having spent almost 8 of the past 10 years working there, it feels a little like going home, but I’m taking with me the great experiences and relationships the past two years at CJRW has provided.”

Before joining CJRW, McKnight spent seven years managing Walmart’s public affairs and governmental relations work in Arkansas.

She also served as a senior legislative aide for then-U.S. Congressman John Boozman from 2002 to 2005.

McKnight was a member of the Forty Under 40 class of 2012, and is a regular contributor to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s opinion page.

“Carrie has worked for us out of the Northwest division and we will greatly miss her,” CJRW president Darin Gray said. “She has a wonderful opportunity for her and her family to return to Walmart, which I know is a special place for her. We wish her the very best and look forward to continuing to work with her.”
