Spring Foliage Photo Workshop

For those who want to learn to take better photographs, the upcoming photo workshop at Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area may be just the thing for you.  Instruction begins in the classroom, and then proceeds to the woods.

Mike Martin, avid nature and wildlife photographer for over 20 years, will lead the workshop.  Martin has had his photos featured by the New York City Parks Department, New York State Parks Department, and Cornell University’s Ornithology Department’s award winning website, “All About Birds”.

 Key elements of the workshop will cover:
• Basic digital SLR camera operation and setup
• Use of “depth of field” in nature photography
• How to manage shutter speed for effective stop action – wildlife shots
• Tips for effective composition for both wildlife and landscape photography
• Equipment and lens considerations for nature photography
• The use of tripods and filters in nature photography

When:  April 26    9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where:  Hobbs State Park visitor center located on Hwy 12 just east of the Hwy 12/War Eagle Road intersection
Bring:  Camera, tripod, comfortable hiking shoes, appropriate outdoor clothing, sack lunch, and water
