Ben Casmer, a 6-year veteran of Community Hospital Systems, which is affiliated with Northwest Health System, has been chosen as the new chief operations officer at the Bentonville hospital, effective July 1.

Dan McKay, the CEO of Northwest Health System, said Casmer has a proven track record of improving each CHS hospital where he worked, most recently at Weatherford Regional Medical Center, a 99-bed CHS-affiliated hospital in Weatherford, Texas.

“During his tenure at Weatherford, he assisted in physician recruitment and the hospital’s $22.3 million expansion that added 52 private patient rooms, an eight-bed coronary care unit and a cardiac cath lab,” McKay said. “Over this same time period, the hospital received Chest Pain Center Accreditation and was named a Press Ganey Quality Award winner.”

Casmer has a master's degree in health care administration from Trinity University at San Antonio and a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.

No stranger to Arkansas, Casmer spent two years as the assistant CEO of CHS-affiliate Medical Center of South Arkansas.
