Looking for Louie in Rogers?

Less than two years after it opened, Louie’s Grill & Bar in Rogers

has closed.

Whether it’s only temporary is undetermined.

A handwritten note taped to the restaurant’s front door alerted patrons recently that the restaurant would be closed until further notice.

“Sorry for any inconvenience,” the note concluded. “Please bear with us during this transition.”

The restaurant was in leased space in the Kingston Centre II commercial development on Walnut Street, owned by the Esch Family Limited Partnership.

Louie’s opened its first location on Joyce Boulevard in Fayetteville in 2009.

A telephone message left for owner Mark Martinez at the Fayetteville location was not returned, though an employee who took the message told Whispers the Rogers location closed the first week in May.

The Louie’s franchise is headquartered in Oklahoma, part of the Hal Smith Restaurant Group portfolio.

The two Arkansas locations, however, are independently owned, according to an HSRG spokesman.
