Independent Living with Medicaid Waiver

What is Medicaid Waiver?
Medicaid Waiver allows adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible while taking advantage of the experiences and opportunities to meet their personal goals.  Services may be provided for a few hours each week or up to 24 hours a day and may take place in the individual’s home or in the community.

What does Waiver cover?
It can cover a broad range of services, depending on the client’s and family’s identified needs.
Some examples of services include:
– Supportive home care
– Daily living skills training
– Service coordination
– Adaptive aids
– Communication aids
– In-home treatment therapy
– Day services
– Home modifications
