Wyley Elliott, vice president for public relations and development at NorthWest Arkansas Community College, resigned his position effective Feb. 15, according to a press notice released late Friday afternoon (Feb, 1).

Elliott has accepted an executive editor’s position with Celebrate Magazine in Rogers.

He joined the college as an administrator in August 2009. Prior to his employment at the institution, he served for two years as an NWACC Foundation Board member.

During his tenure as an administrator, he has led workforce training and development initiatives and oversaw the public relations, marketing and development teams and helped spearhead the fundraising campaign to renovate, furnish and transform a former oncology building into the Melba Shewmaker Southern Region National Child Protection Training Center. The latter campaign has reached 85% of its goal, and officials are hopeful that the renovation work can begin later this year.

Dr Becky Paneitz, president at NWACC will retire June 1, but said Elliott’s commitment and dedication to NWACC will have a lasting impact on the region, most especially his work on the National Child Protection Training Center.

Prior to his public relations post at NWACC, Elliott spent more than two decades in banking.
