Forty Under 40: Ryan Langston
Ryan Langston says his parents taught him the value of integrity and service. As the director of operations at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, he needs both in abundance.
Langston, who joined the hospice in 2009, was at the helm during an important period of transition. Circle of Life added eight inpatient beds at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale and built a 24-bed facility in Bentonville. The staff grew from 90 to 120, and the number of patients increased by 50 percent.
Grounded by his upbringing, a University of Arkansas business degree and four years of experience with heavyweight Nabholz Construction, Langston embraced the important role.
Though the big expansion is now in the past, there’s still plenty of work to do.
In addition to handling operations, Langston also serves as CEO and is responsible for accounting, IT, purchasing, dietary and housekeeping, and durable medical equipment.
Langston enjoys wearing so many hats.
“Helping people keeps me doing what I do and allows me to enjoy what I do,” he said.
In the near future he’ll head back to school for a master’s in business administration. Meanwhile, he’ll stay in his current position.
