NSF Makes (Cardio)Wise Choice
You might remember a story we published late last year about CardioWise, a Fayetteville-based startup that aims to change the way cardiovascular disease is treated.
In that story, we reported CardioWise had secured more than $250,000 in investment funds. Now you can add another $150,000 to that total.
The company, we’re told, recently received its award letter for a grant in that amount from the National Science Foundation. The grant began Jan. 1.
And in case you missed it, cycleWood Solutions Inc. also received a $150,000 grant from the NSF. Another Fayetteville-based startup, cycleWood will use the money to continue development of its XyloBag. The bag will be biodegradable and compostable, unlike polyethylene bags currently used by many retailers.
