Bentonville Deemed an In Spot

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the local business activity it’s spawned have kept Bentonville on the radar of major news outlets.

Last year, a blogger for The New York Times dubbed Bentonville “one of the most cosmopolitan small cities in America.”

Now it’s gained the notice of the Washington Post, which included the city’s “dining scene” on a list of what’s in and what’s out for 2013, published Jan. 1. Bentonville’s dining scene is “in,” by the way, bumping the Charleston, S.C., dining scene to “out.”

Also “in” on the list — heavy in pop culture references aimed at a much hipper demographic than those of us at Whispers — are taxidermy, Bilbo Baggins and, mercifully, pants.

“Outs” include hand fishing, Honey Boo Boo and, again mercifully, leggings for men, or “meggings.”
