Arkansas Mississippi Minority Supplier Group Names New Officers
The Arkansas Mississippi Minority Supplier Development Council (AMMSDC) elected new members to the executive committee of its board of directors.
Salah Khalaf of Sam’s Club/Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. was elected chairman of the board, John Munson of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America was elected vice-chair, Kedrin Edgerson of Pepsico/Frito-Lay was named treasurer, and Cyla C. Rome of Entergy was elected secretary.
The AMMSDC is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that identifies minority suppliers, certifies bona fide minority business enterprises, and facilitates procurement opportunities between corporations and those suppliers.
The minority supplier designation applies to Asian Indian-American, Asian Pacific-American, African-American, Hispanic-American and Native American businesses located throughout Arkansas and Mississippi.
Khalaf is currently the senior manager for supplier diversity Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart. He also sits on the board of directors for the National Minority Supplier Development Council.
