Davis named Washington Regional gala honorary chair

FAYETTEVILLE — The 20th annual Washington Regional Foundation Gala has a new honorary gala chair, Foundation officials announced Wednesday (Oct. 3).

Jeff Davis, senior vice president and treasurer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will serve as honorary chair for the major fundraiser, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, 2013.

“Jeff has lent his energy and enthusiasm to countless organizations that improve the health and quality of life in our community,” says Bill Rogers, Washington Regional Foundation Executive Director. “It is a distinct privilege and pleasure to have him serve as Honorary Gala Chair.”

Davis is responsible for investor relations, capital markets, treasury operations and risk management in his role at Wal-Mart. Before joining Wal-Mart in 2006, Davis served as chief financial officer for McKesson General Medical and later for Lakeland Tours LLC. He holds an executive master of business administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University.

Davis joined the Washington Regional Foundation Board in 2010 and serves on several other public service boards.

According to the organization’s website, the Washington Regional Foundation started in 1988 as a not-for-profit charitable corporation that provides support for the hospital’s activities. The Foundation is responsible for philanthropic projects, programs, and services that are designed to meet its overall mission of improving the health of the communities served by Washington Regional Medical System.

The Foundation’s annual gala is a well-established Northwest Arkansas fundraiser that features well-known entertainers as well as awards for outstanding health leadership. Proceeds from the annual gala benefit various hospital programs and projects that promote community health causes.
