BELLA VISTA CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FORUM
 
BELLA VISTA, AR – October 15, 2012 – The Bella Vista Business Association announces that they will sponsor a City Council Candidate Forum on October 22, 2012. The Forum will be held at Concordia Retirement Center, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista, from 4pm – 6pm. The Forum is open to the community.
 
Although four candidates have now resigned or removed themselves from the candidate race, there are still nine candidates running for 5 positions. One position, that of Alderman Jerry Snow (Ward 1, Position 2) , is unopposed so will not be on the ballot. The positions that are still being voted on include:

Alderman Ward 2, Position 1
                Harry “Butch” Newby
                James “Jim” Wozniak (incumbent)
Alderman Ward 2, Position 2
                Terry Tomlin (withdrew)
                Herbert Thomas
                Richard (Dick) Rooney (incumbent)
Alderman Ward 3, Position 1
                Allen King
                Linda Leffler (withdrew)
                Earl D. Berdine (incumbent but resigned position)
Alderman Ward 3, Position 2
                Suzanne Jessup
                Karen Young (withdrew)
                Larry Wilson
 
All Position 1 candidates are being elected for four years and Position 2 candidates will serve for two years.
 
The mission of the Bella Vista Business Association (BVBA) is to support the local area business members through recognition and promotional events designed to appeal to the local consumers and to encourage patronage of their business. It also provides regular networking opportunities for the business membership. With the additional mission to endeavor to be a good community citizen by supporting local civic and charitable organizations, the BVBA is sponsoring the Candidate Forum so that the Bella Vista Citizens might be better informed voters.
