BENTONVILLE  – Debi Buckley, a former vice president for finance and administration at NorthWest Arkansas Community College, has been chosen by NWACC President Becky Paneitz to fill the role of interim chief financial officer.

Buckley is no stranger to NWACC having served as vice president in the finance department at the college from April 2006 through March 2008. During her tenure, she served as chief fiscal and administrative officer and reported to the president.

She has supervised the divisions of human resources, payroll, business services, construction, risk management, physical plant and public safety. She also prepared and monitored the annual operating budget for the college.

Paneitz said Buckley will begin her responsibilities on Monday, Oct. 1, and work under a nine-month employment contract totaling $97,500.

Buckley holds a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law. She also earned a master’s degree in education from Texas A&M University in addition to an undergraduate degree from Wayland University in Plainview, Texas.

From Aug. 2010 through July 2012 Buckley served as associate director for administrative services at Texas A&M University. In the two years prior, she was the associate director for administrative support at the same institution.

“Debi’s prior experience with NWACC and Texas A&M University and her familiarity with our college make her the ideal choice for this role,” Paneitz said. “We are delighted to have someone with her skills and experience providing leadership in this key area.”
