The Tennessean reports and Dillard's confirms that it will shift jobs from Tennessee to Arkansas thanks to a new fulfillment center in Maumelle.

The Nashville-based newspaper reports:

Dillard’s said it plans to close its Internet sales distribution center in Nashville this summer, leaving roughly 125 employees without jobs.

“It’s a bigger facility and we’ve equipped it with state-of-the-art distribution technology, so it made sense to consolidate everything there,” Julie Johnson Bull said.

The Arkansas facility, which opened in February, is 850,000 square feet and will employ

roughly 300 workers when it is fully operational later this year, she said.

The Nashville warehouse will close in August and some employees were given the opportunity to transfer. Dillard's Maumelle distribution center is aimed at building its online fulfillment capabilities.

Dillard's Department Stores is headquartered in Little Rock.  You can read more here.
