Bids Let On $133 Million In Highway Projects

On Wednesday, the state Highway Commission chose apparent low bids on $132.9 million in road projects.

More than 30 percent of the total was for the relocation of interchange ramps at U.S. 71 and County Road 8 near Fort Chaffee in Sebastian County, and the replacement of 5.9 miles of Interstate 30 in Hot Spring County.

Crossland Construction Co., Inc. of Columbus, Kan., was the low bidder on the Sebastian County project at $17.1 million.

Redstone Construction Group Inc., of Little Rock was the apparent low bidder on the I-30 project with a bid of $23.4 million.

At just over $13.5 million, Kolb Grading LLC of St. Charles, Mo., was the apparent low bidder for phase two of the Bella Vista Bypass project in Benton County.
