ConAgra Foods Inc. gave notice that it intends to consolidate operations from a Batesville factory to one in Missouri in July — a move that will result in layoffs of 233 workers.

The company gave notice to workers late Thursday.

ConAgra’s Batesville plant makes frozen dinners and those functions will be added to a facility in Marshall, Mo. The Batesville plant produces Banquet and Kids Cuisine meals.

Batesville has seen economic improvement in recent months. Bad Boy Mowers announced in March it would add 150 jobs to its Batesville headquarters and manufacturing operations.

The company is investing $7.4 million to expand its production of multi-terrain vehicles.
