The Arkansas affiliate of the CW network ranks among its most-watched affiliates nationwide for the second straight ratings season.

The primetime series “Vampire Diaries,” most popular with women ages 25 to 54, helped push the Arkansas CW into the top 10, according to a company news release.

Among adults 18 to 34, the Arkansas CW topped the network’s national primetime viewing average by 43 percent. In adults 25 to 54, the station beat the national average by 14 percent.

“The Arkansas CW’s primetime ratings growth continues to demonstrate the appetite our viewers have for unique, hip, entertainment programming,” Brian Sather, president and general manager of ABC affiliate KHBS/KHOG-TV, said in the release. “Primetime was only part of the story. I was particularly pleased with the double- and triple-digit growth in many other time periods.”

For example, “Jerry Springer,” which airs at noon weekdays, posted share growth from November to February of 73 percent among adults 18 to 49, and 93 percent for women 25 to 54.

The Arkansas CW, carried by Rogers-based KHBS/KHOG-TV, began airing in April 2008. KHBS/KHOG-TV is owned and operated by Hearst Television Inc.
