Adam & Eats: Pizza Place

This week we’re making up for lost time.

I’ve been on the road and that made it nigh impossible to adventure with you last week. Have no fear! I’m back and have got something delicious for you this week. Our destination might lack a bit of imagination, but they make up for it in flavor.

Ready? Let’s do this!

Located next to CV’s in Alma, is the simply named Pizza Place. Guess what they make there. Go on, guess. Man, you’re good.

This straightforward little joint may not be much to look at, but they do make a great pie. Besides, how many times have we gone to an eatery that is jam-packed with glitz and sparkliness only to find that they serve crappy food?

Clean, relatively bright, simply laid out, and cozy, this little place devotes its time and energy to making food that ultimately will make you smile. Sure, you might end up getting sucked into watching some teen-themed family drama on television, but what are going to do when the girl behind the counter has got the remote?

Well, we’ve beat around the pepperoni bush long enough, let’s dig in.

My first recommendation is the bacon cheeseburger pizza. This hand-tossed crust is piled high with ground beef, bacon, mozzarella, and sharp cheddar. Is it good? Holy crapballs, is it ever. You might start considering selling your firstborn child for a lifetime supply of these sexy pies.

My next choice is the taco pizza. This one is covered with ground taco-seasoned beef, cheddar, lettuce, and tomatoes. They opt out of the refried bean base, and stick to red sauce, but it works in this case. Bright, refreshing, with just a tiny hint of heat, this dish is most excellent.

For you carnivores out there, the “all meat” pizza does not disappoint. Not even a little. This virtual animal massacre consists of a sauced crust buried under a pile of pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, regular sausage, and ground beef. Raise the mead horn towards Valhalla in honor of this glorious pizza. It’s just that meatastic.

Up last on my list of faves is the Supreme. Consistently good, this pie is topped with sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, green pepper, green olives, black olives, and onions. This one will not fail you. It is simply awesome.

Well, that will conclude our adventure for this week. If you haven’t made it out to Alma to fill your belly at the Pizza Place yet, be sure to give them a try. You’re sure to be pleased.

Until next week, good eating to you and yours.
