Pryor: Keystone Project To Be ‘Wrapped Up’ After Presidential Election

The controversial Keystone Pipeline project, which was put on hold by the Obama administration over environmental concerns, is likely to be developed after the November 2012 election, says U.S. Senator Mark Pryor (D).
Pryor toured Welspun Pipe in Little Rock — the Indian-based pipeline manufacturer that stands to benefit immensely from production of Keystone — tells content partner, KUAR-FM 89 News, that election year politics has stymied the project for the time being.
Senator Mark Pryor says he believes the controversial Keystone Pipeline will eventually be approved and that Arkansas will be a major beneficiary from its construction.
Monday he toured the Little Rock facility for Welspun, a company which would make much of the pipe used in the project, and met with its executives.
“I think you can do it environmentally, safely, but the truth is, it is a presidential election year and its gotten wrapped up in some of the presidential politics and I think both sides are to blame for that,” Pryor told reporters.
