Osage Creek Update
Whispers hears the financial roadblocks that held up further construction of the Osage Creek Amphitheatre in a rural area of southwestern Benton County have been resolved.
After a stoppage of several months, an influx of additional cash flow allowed work to resume more than a month ago. Judging by what your Whispers staff saw on a recent trip to the site on Logan Cave Road, quite a bit of progress has been made.
In fact, we might be so bold as to guess the OCA could be ready by this summer. No foolin’.
That’s in no way meant to put any additional pressure on developer Greg Smith, who is heading up the privately financed construction effort. The last thing he needs is another missed target.
Last year was pretty tough on Smith — this project, after all, was supposed to be open in time for a Willie Nelson concert July 3 — who has dealt with naysayers for nearly eight years questioning the OCA’s validity.
Hopefully this last piece of the investment puzzle will help the OCA reach the finish line without any more stops.
