FAYETTEVILLE — Tickets go on sale Friday (March 23) for a couple of music icons whose names are so well-known that they don’t even need the long names of the tours they’re headlining.

The Walton Arts Center announced Tuesday that Hank Williams Jr. and his “Rowdy Friends are Taking Back the Country” tour with special guest Jamey Johnson will perform at the Arkansas Music Pavilion at the Washington County Fairgrounds on April 28. Tickets range from $41.50 to over $100 for the 7:30  p.m. show.

Nicknamed “Bocephus” by his country music legend father, Hank Williams, he is best known as the Emmy Award-winning voice of Monday Night Football, a relationship that is now ended. In 2006, he won the Johnny Cash Visionary Award during the Country Music Television (CMT) Music Awards. But perhaps his claim to fame is that his music is the soundtrack for many a good time.

On June 10, rocker and big game hunter Ted Nugent will bring his “Great White Buffalo” tour to the AMP. Tickets for that 7:30 p.m. show start at $17 and go up to $77. Great White Buffalo is signature song of Nugent's and easily recognizable by the generation who will buy the higher-priced tickets.

All sales start at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets can be bought here.
