A Coca-Cola plant in southwest Little Rock is shifting production to West Memphis and Dallas as it transitions to a full-time distribution center.

Luisa Casso, spokesperson for Coca-Cola, tells Talk Business that there will be some workforce changes.

“The company will shift production in Little Rock, the majority of the production will go to West Memphis and a small portion will go to Dallas,” Casso said.

She said that 49 positions in Little Rock will be eliminated by the moves, but Coca-Cola is working to shift some of those jobs to warehouse operations in Little Rock. In West Memphis, there will be the addition of jobs to handle the production transfer, but firm numbers are not known at this time.

Casso also said that only production jobs would be affected by the Little Rock restructuring. Sales, merchandising, warehouse and distribution operations at the Little Rock Coca-Cola facility would not be impacted by the production shift.

Coca-Cola currently employs about 425 workers in Little Rock.
