Acumen Holdings LLC, a Fayetteville-based e-commerce and Internet development company, is teaming with international hunger relief organization Numana Inc. in an effort to package two million meals to be sent to Haiti.

The 24-hour event, dubbed Razorback Relief: Operation Haiti, will start at 7 p.m. on June 25. Organizers are actively seeking volunteers to work two-hour shifts.

Coaches, student-athletes and other staff members from the University of Arkansas athletic department will participate.

“More than one million meals were packaged in Los Angeles and then Kansas City topped that mark,” UA athletic director Jeff Long said in a news release. “I know that the people of Northwest Arkansas will help us shatter the record by packaging two million meals for Haiti.”

The meals will be shipped directly to Haiti by Numana, and the operation will be overseen by United States military members. Interested persons can contact former Razorback golfer Rich Morris at [email protected]
