CDI Boasts $205 Million In Revenue
Last month, Arkansas Business mentioned that preliminary information released by Dillard’s Inc. suggested that its construction company subsidiary, CDI Contractors of Little Rock, had about $205 million in revenue during fiscal 2009, which ended Jan. 30, 2010.
Now that the Little Rock retailer has filed its annual report with the Securities & Exchange Commission, we can report that the $205 million was strictly work done for “external customers.”
Another $51.9 million worth of “intersegment” work – that is, work done for the other segment of the Dillard’s corporation, its chain of retail stores – was also done during the last fiscal year, for total revenue of almost $257 million.
Exactly how that compares with previous years is impossible to say; Dillard’s only owned CDI outright and reported its results as a business segment for the last five months of 2008. mWe do know this: CDI’s net income for FY2009 was just over $4 million, a margin of about 2 percent. That’s almost 5 percent of Dillard’s before-tax profit last year of $84.5 million.
