Kastl Tries to Beat the Blues

Mondays aren’t always a lot of fun, but Tony Kastl is trying to help people at least end them on a joyous note.

That effort is via a Kastl enterprise known as Just Mondays, a watering hole/eatery located in the same space as the Nibbles café. For the uninitiated, that’s basically next door to Liquor World in Fayetteville.

The nightspot currently is open Mondays only, from 5-11 p.m., with a tentative plan to add Thursday and Friday hours. An adjacent patio also could be in working order by summer.

The idea is to have a full bar eventually, along with a rotating food menu that will include sliders, chili dogs, chips and dips and more. The space holds about 90 people, Kastl said, and feels more like a den than a bar or restaurant.

Kastl, who has years of restaurant and bartending experience under his belt, said Just Mondays offers him and his patrons a brief escape from their day jobs.
