Underwood No Stranger to Financial Woes

We told Whispers readers in the last issue about Billy Craig Underwood and his wife Rinda Lynn Underwood having the assets of a building they own in Rogers frozen by U.S. Attorney Deborah Groom.

The action was set off because the company that the couple operated in the building, American Title, failed to
make nearly $2 million worth of lien payoffs with money it received at closings.

It looks like Billy Craig Underwood is no stranger to financial problems. He filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1993, then again in 2002.

The two claimed they had liabilities of $2.17 million and assets of $30,480 in Sept. 2002. Billy Craig listed his income that year as $116,626 from the National Mortgage Co.

Again, Billy Craig is not related to the Underwoods who own the Underwood Plaza.
