A popular Rogers eatery will soon expand into Fayetteville. J.J.’s Grill n’ Chill, which opened on Walnut Street in Rogers in December, will open a location on Wedington Drive in September.

Owner Jody Thornton said he’s always had the goal of opening five locations of the full-service restaurant and bar and Fayetteville was the next logical place to go.

“I think Fayetteville is just a great fit,” he said.

Thornton said the Fayetteville restaurant, located in the Wedington Place shopping center, will feature the same laid-back, saloon-esque vibe as the Rogers locale, with walls covered in barn wood and adorned with photographs and memorabilia.

The outdoor patio will be larger, he said, and will include booths as well as washer pits for playing washers, a game similar to horseshoes.

Like the Rogers location, the new spot will also feature live music at no charge.

Thornton said he’s excited about the location because of its convenient access to Interstate 540.
“I think that area will be good for us,” he said.

J.J.’s menu includes hamburgers, sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads and grilled items. The full bar has more than 30 beers on tap.

“It’s just a cool place to hang out and have some beers,” Thornton said. “And the food is good; people really enjoy the food.”
