The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services is now providing unemployment assistance at the Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus Adult Education center.

The office opened May 5.

Residents of Franklin County may receive employment services and file for unemployment insurance benefits at the Adult Education center, located across Arkansas Highway 23 from the ATU-Ozark campus in the Business and Community Outreach building, according to a release from the university.

“With the recent layoffs in the River Valley there is a need in our county for additional assistance,” said Sherry Brown, the coordinator of Franklin and Logan Counties Adult Education for ATU-Ozark.  “We hope the services provided will be useful and convenient for area residents.”

DWS staff will be available at the location from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. DWS also has an office in Fort Smith at 616 Garrison Ave., Room 101 of the State Office Building.
