Lenny’s Returns With New Location

Those who mourned the loss of Lenny’s Sub Shop when it abruptly closed both of its Fayetteville locations in 2003 can look forward to the return of the shop’s signature Philly Cheesesteaks and hot pepper relish.

A new location will soon open at 160 E. Joyce Boulevard.

The restaurant opened its first Fayetteville location in the Three Sisters building on Dickson Street in 2000 followed closely by a second location on Joyce Boulevard.

Fans of the subs, as well as employees, were surprised when the first location closed in June 2003 and downright disappointed when the second shop closed its doors two weeks later.

Erin Hartong, director of marketing and communications for the Memphis-based company, said the location is currently under construction but she doesn’t know the expected completion date.
