Forty Under 40: Jed Alexander Bullock

When the bigwigs at Best Western corporate headquarters need reliable feedback and regional expertise, Jed Bullock, 38, is one of the leaders the company calls on.

The fifth-generation Eureka Springs native (whose wife also happens to be a fifth-generation native) is a governor for the hotel chain. That means he is one of about 240 employees the corporation uses for on-the-ground communication and help when another Best Western hotel needs guidance.
It’s a volunteer position, but “it’s an honor to be a governor, and I really thoroughly enjoy it,” Bullock said.

Another honor Bullock has received was the 2006 Albert Rusher Golden Key Award from the Arkansas Lodging Association.

He has kept extraordinarily busy over the years, serving in various capacities on the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce board of directors, the Northwest Arkansas Tourism Association, the Eureka Springs Group Travel Cooperative and the Arkansas Hospitality Association, where he is currently vice president, and next year will be president.

In addition to all that, he’s captain of the city’s fire department.

Hospitality is also personally fulfilling for Bullock.

“It’s a people-oriented business, and I enjoy meeting individuals from other areas and telling them about Eureka Springs,” he said. “It’s a good fit.”
