Rausch Coleman Partners with City
Rausch Coleman Homes LLC of Fort Smith was recently selected by the city of Fayetteville to partner with the city in an effort to provide affordable housing for residents.
Under the agreement Rausch Coleman will have to plan for and construct homes that can be sold for less than $130,000.
Buddy Coleman, founder of Rausch Coleman Homes, said the partnership is nothing new for the firm, affordable housing is what has made the company successful.
Since 1955 the company has built more than 10,000 homes in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
In 2006 the company had $78 million in revenue and so far in 2007 Coleman said company revenue is up 20 percent.
In 2005 Rausch Coleman was number 149 on Builder Magazine’s Top 200 America’s Biggest Builders list.
Although the company has grown over the years, Coleman said their mission has remained the same: to provide quality, affordable, entry-level housing.
Rausch Coleman is currently building homes that list for $116,000 to $118,000 in Fayetteville’s Walnut Crossing subdivision.
By the first quarter of 2008, Fayetteville community resources director Yolanda Fields said she hopes to have a market study completed and have land selected and homes designed.
