UA Professors Release New Film
“Beacon of Hope: The Story of the University of Arkansas” produced by professors Larry Foley and Dale Carpenter premiered on Oct. 8 at the Arkansas Union Theatre.
The film covers the entire 135-year history of the university, complete with myths and little known facts.
“I literally grew up on this campus, but there are stories in ‘Beacon of Hope’ that I had never heard until I began digging into the archives,” Foley said.
Professor James Greeson composed the film’s original music.
“Beacon of Hope” will also show on Oct. 20 and Oct. 23 at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.
It will air on AETN on Nov. 29 at 8 p.m.
There is also a DVD distribution plan.
